"...neither side of the fence is better or right or more or less, and that beauty and friendship can be found no matter which side of the fence one is standing.”

Exhibition Overview

“Both Sides of the Fence; this refers to our subject matter. Domestic animals for Kyle, and wildlife for me. It also alludes to our differences in medium. He paints, I draw. He uses color, I work in black and white. And more esoterically, this title expresses the idea that neither side of the fence is better or right or more or less, and that beauty and friendship can be found no matter which side of the fence one is standing.” –Ray Brown

“At Turner Fine Art, we are honored to host the work of Ray Brown and Kyle Paliotto. It is an exhibition of two friends who do very different work, but are both at the top of their game.  It combines Brown's black and white compositions of wildlife with the ebullient impressionistic painting of Kyle Paliotto. In Ray Brown’s exquisitely designed charcoal work, I am drawn into the moment he creates. Through Paliotto’s paintings, we celebrate life through his colorful lens.  It is an unexpected show that delights the senses and is not to be missed!” –Kathryn Mapes Turner

The Wild Path:
Inspiration & Creativity

by Ray Brown. In the interest of giving the viewer some insight into where my images come from, I thought I might expound on what happens during one of my reference gathering trips. To begin with, I use tons of reference photos to create my drawings. But I use only my own photos and experiences, never pulling image sources other than my own.
