Exhibition Overview
I wander through the West witnessing windblown mountains and sunlight to gather emotion and imagery for my landscape paintings. Each of my paintings holds a story and lends itself to memories. My paintings prove to be timeless as they resonate with people as they come to age, travel through transitions or simply seek to add peace and harmony to their comfortable spaces. My oil paintings host a feeling of peace and respect for my subject as I focus on texture and color harmony. I enjoy tailoring my artistic process to meet project guidelines and themes and find success in the challenge of deadlines.
My childhood happened in the house next to my aging grandparents. They modeled pure, unconditional love, and respect for the world around us. All of the success I have found in my life can be credited to the groundwork they taught me. I grew up in northern Idaho, moved to San Francisco, California for my Masters in Fine Art degree at the Academy of Art University and now make my art in the town of Jackson, Wyoming. In the eight years as a maker in this community, my artwork has grown to involve pottery, printmaking, watercolors, and textiles, yet oil painting remains my beloved.
