We’re proud to announce that this month’s issue of Western Art Collector features Swedish watercolorist Gunnar Tryggmo whose first solo exhibition in the United States, The Wild Wonder, continues at the gallery through March 29, 2019.
As a master watercolor painter, Gunnar discusses the uniqueness of watercolor paintings in America and the challenges of the medium. It’s rare to find watercolor of this caliber in Jackson Hole, especially depicting subjects native to the area.
“Although he lives more than 4,000 miles away from the American West, Swedish painter Gunnar Tryggmo relates deeply to the wildlife of the West, particularly the critters in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, waterfowl–each one is a new opportunity to connect with the region and its iconic inhabitants.”
