Art Thrives Here: Jackson Ranked #1 in the U.S. for Arts Vibrancy

Jackson has long been known for its breathtaking mountain landscapes, western heritage, and thriving creative spirit. Now, the rest of the country is taking notice in an even bigger way. According to the 2025 Arts Vibrancy Index from SMU DataArts and the National Center for Arts Research, Jackson has officially been ranked the #1 most arts-vibrant community in the United States.

This prestigious recognition places Jackson ahead of cultural giants like New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., an incredible achievement for a small mountain town. The ranking reflects something those of us who live and work here have always known: art is deeply woven into the fabric of this community.

The Arts Vibrancy Index measures communities based on three major categories: arts providers, arts dollars, and public support for the arts. Researchers analyze more than 900 communities nationwide using data-driven metrics that include the number of artists and arts organizations, arts participation, employment in creative industries, charitable giving, and government support for the arts. Importantly, the study adjusts for population size and cost of living, allowing smaller communities like Jackson to compete fairly with major metropolitan areas.

What makes Jackson especially remarkable is that its arts ecosystem continues to flourish year after year. The 2025 report recognized Jackson as one of only seventeen “10-Year Veterans,” communities that have consistently ranked among the nation’s most arts-vibrant places for an entire decade.

Here in the Tetons, art is more than entertainment or decoration, it is part of our identity. From galleries and museums to local artists, live performances, public art, and community events, creativity shapes the way we experience life in Jackson. Visitors from around the world are drawn here not only for the natural beauty, but also for the inspiration and cultural richness that define this valley.

At Turner Fine Art, we are incredibly proud to be part of this vibrant arts community. Every painting, sculpture, and conversation shared within our gallery reflects the passion and dedication of artists and collectors who believe in the importance of the arts.

Most importantly, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our customers and supporters. This recognition belongs to the entire community, including every person who visits the gallery, attends an exhibition, supports the represented artists, or brings art into their home. Your encouragement and kindness make it possible for creativity to thrive here in Jackson.

In a world that often moves quickly, art reminds us to slow down, connect, and see beauty in new ways. Thank you for supporting the artists, galleries, and cultural institutions that make Jackson such a special place. Together, we are helping preserve a creative legacy that continues to inspire generations to come.
