The Light That Blurs and Blazes
July 1st through August 2nd.
Reception: Thursday, July 10th from 5p.m. - 7p.m.
Light is more than illumination—it’s a force that shapes what we see and how we feel. In The Light that Blurs and Blazes, three painters—Michael Albrechtsen, Stacey Peterson, and Bethanne Cople—explore the expressive potential of light in its many forms: soft or sharp, subtle or bold, fleeting or unrelenting.
Each artist brings a distinct approach to oil painting, yet all share a fascination with light as both subject and tool. Albrechtsen’s sweeping compositions capture atmosphere and movement with cinematic depth. Peterson’s refined style balances clarity with emotion, often revealing quiet drama within the familiar. Cople’s bold, painterly works pulse with energy and immediacy, allowing light to carve and dissolve form in equal measure.
This exhibition invites viewers into a luminous space—one where boundaries shift, emotion rises, and light itself becomes the story.
